Thanksgiving Feast 2013

Thanks to everyone's generous donations and our AMAZING Impact team, our Thanksgiving Feast was a delicious success! These cute smiles will speak for themselves :)

We are truly BLESSED! Thank you Jesus most of all for providing the Way for us to have eternal life. 

Mrs. Haney's Show and Tell

Today, we had the privilege of having Mrs. Haney come and speak to our class for a wonderful Show-and-Tell! We just completed our chapter on the 4 American Indian tribes, so the information was fresh on our minds. 

She came with beautiful photographs and artifacts from her travels, and shared with us some very interesting facts. 

The kids were thrilled to actually touch and feel the items that we have been learning about!

Below are the posters that the students made in their groups. They used the word web along with drawings to explain the various aspects of each tribe. They did a super job on their oral presentations as well.

Educreations Classroom

I have set up a new Educreations Classroom online! I will try to post whenever I see the need to reteach something to the kids, or to teach a concept to you at home so that you can in turn help your student. 

For starters, I decided to do a little math tutoring session. Some of you had questions regarding the subtraction method that we were using, so here's my explanation.

I also included an explanation for one of the questions on the math test that the kids took, so feel free to have them watch it when they do their corrections.

An AWESOME Field Trip

We cannot thank Mr. and Mrs. Snawder enough for our field trip to Fire Station 173. How good was it? Well, he kept 33 third grade students learning and engaged for 2 hours! THAT's how good it was!

Sienna looks so happy with blood dripping down her arm:) 

Now we know how to apply direct pressure on the wound, and elevate it above the heart. 

Salem was a good patient as Mr. Snawder demonstrated how to stabilize a broken arm and make a sling.

The kids did a great job trying their new skills on each other. 

Next, there was a demonstration on how to help a person with a neck injury. Gabriel was such a good sport about being all wrapped up!

We kept the right beat to the song "Staying Alive" as we did chest compressions!

And finally, we watched Sienna be rescued from a burning room filled with smoke!

THANK YOU Captain Snawder and the rest of his crew for doing such a great job protecting us. We all left with newfound respect for what they do each and every single day.
