Here On Time Spirit Day!!

We had an AWESOME H.O.T. Spirit Day on Friday. The kids rocked out and had a blast celebrating coming to school on time, and looking great even with their mismatched clothes! I don't think these kids know how to look bad:) They are all adorable.

Congratulations to Mrs. Paxton's class for winning the Eagle stuffed animal for the month of October. They had the least number of absences and tardies since the beginning of school. 3 tardies will count as an absence, so let's do a good job this coming month and try to get the Eagle (to be named soon).

Below are some close-up shots. Enjoy!

Social Studies Fun!!

One day in Social Studies, the children were asked to read a section from their textbook and become "experts" on a certain topic. One group was given "Rural Area", another "Urban", and another "Suburb". Each group drew pictures and had to say something from the text to teach the rest of the class.

These girls had the giggles, but they did a great job teaching us about the rural area.

A group of very eloquent presenters!

A small group but very informative!

Great instruction!

LOVE the drawing!

Our future teachers!

Off to a Great Start!!

I am FINALLY posting some photos from our first week of school. Please forgive me for being so late! My hope is that you enjoy getting a little glimpse of the BLESSINGS and joy that your children bring into my life on a daily basis.

The kids LOVE our classroom library! Mrs. Jacobs' class is on the zebra rug, and my kids are on the picnic blanket at the Picnic Reading area.

Here are the kids reading from our new language arts textbook, Journeys. They are doing a great job with their independent reading time.

Partner work is always a great way to learn. I oftentimes catch them teaching one another or challenging each other with more difficult questions.

Here they are at a math station, matching correct answers using shoestrings.

I am very proud of my hard working kids doing their seatwork!

I tried to be sneaky with the camera, but Aidan caught me!

Thanks for visiting. Please feel free to leave a message!
